Back Send condolences to the Shew Family
Hubert Allen Shew, 82, of Bridgeport passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. He was born March 9, 1929 in Universal, Indiana a son of the late Homer Russell Shew and Dorothy Wood Shew.
He was also preceded in death by his wife Esther Elizabeth Sapp Shew who passed away in 1981.
Mr. Shew is survived by his daughter Eleanor Elizabeth Shew-Antill and her husband Brett of Bridgeport; one son, Allen Roger Shew and his wife Carey of Riverview, FL; four grandchildren, Alexa Elizabeth Antill, Todd Michael Antill, Mychaela Nycole Antill and Anna Elizabeth Shew.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Carolyn Shew-Hutchinson Enochs.
Mr. Shew worked as a technician, working on cameras and control panels for WTOV-TV 9 in Steubenville, OH which was the station he began working over 50 years ago. He retired in 2003. He enjoyed traveling and photography, taking 2 or 3 major trips each year, to places he had not been before. Most of all he enjoyed hearing about his grandchildren and the activities that they were involved.

Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Saturday, January 28, 2012 from 2-5pm, where funeral services will be conducted at 5 pm with Reverend Roger Bush presiding. Interment will be held at a later date in Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville, OH.
