Emery Freeman, 51, of Wolf Summit, passed away Friday evening, December 30, 2011.  He was born in Clarksburg on May 14, 1960, a son of Shirley Williams Flanigan, who survives in Wolf Summit, and the late Willis A. Freeman, Sr. 

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Emery “Blaine” Pitsenbarger, NC; two brothers, Brad Freeman and his wife Candy, North View; and Willie Freeman and his companion Danielle Bryan, North View; a sister, Karen Freeman and her fiancé Mark Bumgardner, Adamston; eight nieces and nephews; a great-niece; a great-nephew; and Tonya’s children, Andrew and Nikki. 

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Jeffery Freeman; a sister, Melissa Ann Flanigan; and his companion of ten years, Tonya Hamrick Hurst, who passed away with him. 

Emery was a graduate of Liberty High School, and he worked construction.  Above all, his family was first, as he made sure everyone was taken care of.  He enjoyed the outdoors, working on cars, and NASCAR.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Friday, from 2 – 8 p.m., where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2012, with Pastor Jason Horrocks presiding.  Interment will follow in Coplin Cemetery.

My deepest sympathy to the Freeman family,  Emery will be sadly missed he was a great person, big hearted, funny and family oriented. I am sure Melissa and Jeff are waiting for him at the Pearly gates to join them in heaven. God Bless....Alan and Nora Griffith and family.
