Virgil Allen Ferguson, 50, of Stonewood, passed away Thursday night, December 30, 2010, in Morgantown.  He was born in Clarksburg on March 13, 1960, a son of the late Perry H. Ferguson, Jr. and Virginia Madge Wine Ferguson. 

He is survived by his wife, Kay Moneypenny Ferguson whom he married on March 12, 2001. 

Also surviving are two step children, Myra Sandy and her husband Denzil of Stonewood and Joel Thornton and his companion Yvonne Taylor of Ravenna, OH.; six step grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; four brothers, Perry Ferguson and his wife Leona, Saltwell; Kenneth Ferguson and his wife Linda; Flemington; James Ferguson, Stonewood; Jerry Ferguson and his wife Kathy, Clarksburg; six sisters, Leona Winters and her husband Jeff, Shinnston; Judy Russell and her husband Gary, Broken Arrow, OK; Debbie Eagle and her husband Clarence, Clarksburg; Helen Mayle, Clarksburg; Betty Young and her husband Lewis, Bristol; and Carolyn Green and her husband Dwayne, Flemington; six nieces and ten nephews; his dog Scooter, his dove Diamond, and his cat Puddy. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, David Lynn Ferguson, Stanley Bruce Ferguson and Marvin L. Ferguson. 

Virgil was a handyman who would help out his family and friends and he assisted in taking care of his parents.  He liked to color felt pictures, watch TV game shows and take his walks to the park and visit his neighbors. 

Friends may call at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Sunday, January 2, 2011, from 2 – 8 pm.  Following the visitation, Virgil will be cremated and a graveside service and interment will be held at Bridgeport Cemetery at a later date.
