Back Send condolences to the Byard Family
Susanna Rose Byard, 89, of Bridgeport, and formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at her residence. She was born in Brave, PA, on April 23, 1921, a daughter of the late Fred Edward and Blanche Anna Watson Rose.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles K. Byard, on June 18, 1998.
She is survived by her children, Karen Horton and her husband Laurence, Rockwall, TX; Charles K. Byard, II, Bridgeport; and Sara Lois and her husband Timothy, Bluffton, SC; her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Jo Swecker, Buckhannon; three grandchildren, Amy Suzanne Mehr and her husband James, Buckhannon; Carl A. Laughlin, III, of Dallas, TX; and Bryan T. Laughlin and his wife Yesenia, Rockwall, TX; four great-grandchildren, Tyler, Ethan, and Patrick Mehr of Buckhannon; and Jaden Laughlin, Rockwall, TX; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, John Randall Byard and David Jeffrey Byard. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by her sisters Willa, Jane, and Iva.
Susanna was a graduate of Blacksville High School, Blacksville, WV, and a member of the Methodist Church in Brave, PA.
She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife and mother and will be dearly missed by her family. She was also a loving grandmother and she was adored by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Above all, she loved being a “Mother.”
Graveside services and interment will be held at a later date at Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg, PA, with her nephew Rev. John Byard of Kentucky presiding.
