Back Send condolences to the Fischer Family
Denise “Denny” Fischer, 80, of Bridgeport passed away on Tuesday November 23, 2010, in Morgantown. She was born August 29, 1930, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Charles Furman and Daizine Neva Nicely.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Herman Fischer, who passed away July 1, 2003.
She is survived by four daughters, Dr. Paula Nelson and her husband Karl of Bridgeport, Lala Porter and her husband Michael of Frederick, MD, Deborah Marteney and her husband Alan of Dover, DE and Kathryn M. Fischer of Bridgeport; four grandsons, Neil Porter, Kenneth Fischer and his wife Anna, Joshua Bryant and Gabriel Fresa; two granddaughters, Rivkah Nelson and Dorit Nelson; one great granddaughter, Liviya Fischer and one sister, Jean Furman of Tucson, AZ.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Lisa Porter.
Denny was a member of the State Medical Auxiliary, the D. A. R., Daniel Davidson Chapter, and she enjoyed playing tennis and golf as well as reading, knitting and baking. Most of all, she enjoyed her family and spending time with them.
Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Friday November 26, 2010, from 12 noon – 2:00 pm where funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 with Reverend George Bramble officiating and Dr. Paula Nelson co-officiating. Interment will follow in Bridgeport Cemtery.
