Back Send condolences to the Williams Family
Edith Madge Williams, 92, of Liberty Addition passed away on Sunday October 17, 2010 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born November 24, 1917 in Liberty Addition the daughter of the late Albert (Squat) Southern and Pearl Edith Flanigan Southern.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Walter Willis Williams who passed away in March of 2004.
She is survived by one son, Ron Williams and his wife Mary Lou of Liberty Addition; two grandchildren, Teddie Jo Williams of Liberty Addition, Scott Williams and his wife Diane of Clarksburg; one great grand daughter Emily D. Williams; one brother, Lester Southern and his wife Betty; one sister, Ufa Robey all of Gregory’s Run; brother –in-law Porter Williams; one sister-in-law Aletha Southern; a special care giver, Kim Johnson who took excellent care of her.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Eugene Southern and Albert Curtis Southern; one daughter-in-law Delores Hester Roby Williams.
Mrs. Williams enjoyed baby sitting small children, writing in her journal, painting, quilting and crocheting.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to People’s Hospice, PO Box 1680, Clarksburg, WV 26330, in her honor.
Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue., Bridgeport on Tuesday October 19, 2010 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, where funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 1:00 pm. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Quiet Dell.
