Frank Joseph Sipko, Sr., 85, of Clarksburg, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2010, at his residence.  He was born in Clarksburg on April 6, 1925, a son of the late Joseph and Anna Shultz Sipko.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Rose Karakiozis Sipko.          

In addition to his wife he is also survived by one daughter, Debra Jacobs and her husband Mike; one son Frank Sipko, Jr., and his wife Angela; five grandchildren, Michelle Morgan, Mason Jacobs and his wife Cristy, Daniel Sipko, Elizabeth Keough, and John Keough and his wife Jessica; four great-grandchildren, Phillip Morgan, Mallory Morgan, Samuel Romano and Lucy Keough; several nieces and nephews; and one special friend Bill Carpenter.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Rose Ellison, Ann Baney, and Ellen Boggs. 

Mr. Sipko was a graduate of Washington-Irving High School and also was a veteran of the United States Army having served during WWII in the 171st Engineering Combat Battalion throughout France, Germany and Belgium, and he also took part in the Battle of the Bulge.  Mr. Sipko was employed by Hazel Atlas and Newell Glass Company with 35 years of service where he was a glass supervisor.

He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarksburg.  He was also a member of the Seniors Bowling League.  Frank will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband for 63 years, a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. 

Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Tuesday from 12 noon to 8:00 pm, where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at 10:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Casey Mahone as Celebrant.  Interment will be in Bridgeport Cemetery.

I am so sorry to hear of Frank’s death.  I worked with Frank at Anchor Hocking, he was my boss.  He was such A fair and nice man. I will be praying for the family.  Renee Weil
