Back Send condolences to the Lyle Family
Agnes C. Lyle, 93, of Bridgeport, and formerly of Port Richey, FL, and Staten Island, NY, passed away Saturday morning, August 14, 2010, at her son’s residence. She was born June 3, 1917, in Rhode Island, a daughter of the late Joseph H. and Bridget T. Boyle Kennedy.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ellsworth J. Lyle, on July 3, 1997.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth H. Lyle, Bridgeport, her daughter-in-law, Barbara Sheehan, Staten Island, NY; six grandsons, Sean Lyle and his wife Paulette, Kissimmee, FL; Jay Lyle and his wife Kim, Bridgeport; Kevin “KC” Lyle and his wife Beth, Charles Town, WV; Scott Lyle and his fiancé Simone Iacona, Staten Island, NY; Craig Lyle and his wife Carolanne, NJ; and Ritchie Lyle, Staten Island, NY; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Lyle; a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Lyle; two brothers, Frank Kennedy and Charlie Kennedy; and three sisters, Teresa Wixted; Helen Christianson; and Margret Elwood.
Agnes was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Hudson, FL. She was a member of Ladies of the Elks #2520, Arepeka, FL; VFW Ladies Auxillary #6180; and Timber Oak Homeowners Association. She also enjoyed playing cards.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Monday from 5 – 8 pm, where the Wake service will be held at 7:30pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Stonewood, with Father Kent Durig as Celebrant. Interment will be held in Ocean View Cemetery, Staten Island, NY
