Nancy George, age 69, of
Bridgeport, passed away Sunday,
July 18, 2010. She was born
February 15, 1941 in Clarksburg,
a daughter of the late Joseph
and Rose Surock.
She is survived by her husband
of 52 years Ronald George, whom
she married December 11, 1958,
seven children, Tammy Welling
and her husband Boyd, Pamela
Hurst and her husband Jack,
Rhonda Janice, Ronald George,
Jr. and his wife Debbie, Lori
Gray and her husband Doug,
Monica Scott and her husband
Shane, and Stephanie Hunter and
her husband Ryan; nine
grandchildren, Jessica McNemar,
Ashley Leary, Sara Shirkey Adam
Gray, Alex George, Emily Gray,
Abby George, Catey Hunter, and
Colin Hunter; and four
great-grandchildren, Kimberly
Leary, Zhane Shirkey Phoenix
Satterfield and Jaris
Satterfield.
Nancy is also survived by six
brothers and sisters, Johnny
Surock, Sandra Flint, Martha
Elliot, Patty Fox, Suzie Dodd
and Billy Surock.
In addition to her parents, she
was preceded in death by three
brothers, Bobby Surock, Tommy
Surock and Jimmy Surock.
Nancy was a loving wife and
mother and greatly enjoyed being
a grandmother. She also enjoyed
making crafts, baking and
sewing.
Friends will be received at
Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S.
Virginia Ave., Bridgeport, from
5 to 8 pm Wednesday. The funeral
service will be held at the
funeral home at 1:00 pm
Thursday, July 22, 2010, with
Reverend Thomas P. Horne
presiding. Entombment will
follow at Floral Hills Memorial
Gardens.
