Let it be joyfully known that Louise finished her labors for a kingdom of love and entered eternal life on Saturday, July 3, 2010. 

She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Denzil and Irene Marsh Crites on February 5, 1932.  Having lived her young life in Upshur County and attended Buckhannon-Upshur High School, she met the love of her life and married Lawrence Metzner, who survives in Stonewood, on October 24, 1948, and they celebrated 61 years of marriage. 

They are the parents of Larry Metzner and his wife Eleanor, Georgetown, DE; Ladonna Tucker and her husband Gary, Clarksburg; Pastor Loren Metzner and his wife Susan, Hambleton, WV; grandchildren, Christopher Metzner, Jacksonville, FL; Craig Metzner and his wife Amy, Seaford, DE; Timothy Metzner and his wife Heather, Milford, DE; Loren Metzner, Elkins; Jeremy Weaver and his wife Carrie, Lumberport; Jamie Weaver and his fiancee Lori, Dawson Mines; Michalla Metzner, Elkins; and a step-grandson, Yancey Weaver, Owens.  Four great-grandsons; 2 great-granddaughters; a step-great-grandson; 3 step-great-granddaughters; her brother, Stacy Homer Crites and his wife Sylvia, Saltwell Road; and her sister, Cletha Sutton, Canton, OH, complete her family. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant grandson. 

Louise was a longtime member of Stonewall United Methodist Church, where she was active in the choir, as a Sunday School teacher, and President of the United Methodist Women.  She held many positions in the CEOS, and was the 2005 Harrison County Belle.  She loved sewing and needlework, especially knitting, counted cross-stitch and cooking.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Tuesday from 4 – 8 pm, where services will be held at 11 a.m.  on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, with her son, Pastor Loren Metzner presiding.  Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

just wanted to let the Metzner family know that they are in my  thoughts and prayers.....i was  saddened to hear of Louise's passing......i knew Louise thru extension homemakers, now ceos, and always liked her so well.  ...she will be missed by so many.   what a comfort to know that she is with our Lord.

Chuck and I are very saddened upon hearing of the passing of Louise but the angels are singing.  Louise was on my walk #22 and I soon developed a very high respect for her and her walk with the Lord.  We extend our sincere sympathy to the family.  She will be greatly missed.
