Mary Jean Clayton Currey White, 65, of Port Saint Lucie, FL, and formerly of Hepzibah, passed away Wednesday morning, June 9, 2010, following an extended illness.  She was born March 27, 1945, in Akron, OH, the daughter of Mildred “Millie” Caldwell Singleton, who survives in Hepzibah, and the late Wilbur Singleton. 

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband Richard White. 

Also surviving are three sons, Jeffrey R. Clayton and his wife Joy of Hepzibah; Darren T. Clayton and his wife Tina, Sebastian, FL; and Ryan M. Currey and his wife Amanda, Shirley, WV; three grandchildren, David I. Clayton and his wife Amanda, Clarksburg; Tabitha MacKintosh and Savannah VanDecker, both of Sebastian, FL; three great-grandchildren, Isaiah M. Clayton; Zachery Jones; and Gavin Clayton; and her first husband, Harry Rex Clayton, Jr., Virginia Beach, VA; and several aunts, uncles, cousins. 

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Larry M. Currey. 

Jeannie was the former owner and operator of Jeannies Family Hair in Hepzibah and Jeannie for Hair in Port St. Lucie, FL.

Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607, S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, WV  26330, on Tuesday June 15, 2010 from 1:00 – 8:00 pm, where funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11:00 am with Reverend O.D. Harman presiding.  Interment will be in Shinnston Masonic Cemetery, Shinnston.
