Michael Andrew Cunningham, 15, of Bridgeport passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 29, 2010 in Weston.  He was born June 22, 1994 in Morgantown the son of Kevin Cunningham and Amy D’Anselmi Cunningham of Bridgeport, WV. 

He is also survived by one brother, Ben Cunningham; maternal grandmother, Patty D’Anselmi of Bridgeport and paternal grandmother JoAnn Cunningham of Clarksburg; three uncles, John D’Anselmi and his companion Venus Drummond of Lost Creek, Bill Cunningham and his companion Charlotte Koontz of Philippi, and Pat Cunningham and his wife Janet of Bridgeport; two aunts Ann Whiteman and her husband Dan of Lamberts Run and Kimmy Ratcliff and her companion Phil Rinehart of Haywood; several cousins, Joseph D’Anselmi and his fiancée Kayla Lucas  and his son Anthony D’Anselmi, Shanli Posey, Emily Cunningham, Matt Cunningham and his fiancée Beth Edgell, Daniel  Cunningham and his wife Crystal  and son Aiden, Rebecca Reeseman and her children Jamala, Austin and Tyler, David and Dustin Whiteman and Kayla  and Alex Ratcliff; special great aunts and uncles, Aunt Lou and Uncle John Lopez and Aunt Janice and Dave Weese;  his special friends Hallie Kittle and Alainna Lantz; his pet dog, Kaycee and three pet cats, Leo, Punky and Abby. 

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Lawrence D’Anselmi and his paternal grandfather Dave Cunningham; one Aunt Laurie D’Anselmi. 

Michael was a sophomore at Bridgeport High School where he was an active member of the marching band as well as the concert band.  He was also an active member of the Student Council.  At Johnson Elementary, he was involved with the Tech Team. At Bridgeport Middle School, he was active in the school broadcast “Tomahawk Talk”, and also participated in Bridgeport High School’s media presentations.  Michael loved twitter and facebook and was a fan of many groups on the facebook website.  He loved to camp and to drive, being taught by his father how to drive since he was 6 years old.  Michael loved Christmas and decorating for the Holiday. 

Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, from 1 – 8 p.m. Friday, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010, with Reverend Thomas P. Horne presiding.  Burial will be in Greenlawn Masonic Cemetery, Clarksburg.
