Back Send condolences to the Sandy Family
Richard “Wayne” Sandy, 73, of Goff Avenue, Clarksburg, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010, in the United Hospital Center. He was born in Sardis on July 25, 1936, a son of the late William and Auddie Mae Scott Sandy.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Roth Sandy.
Also surviving are two sons, Richard W. Sandy, II, and his wife Julie, Bloomington, IL; and James Kirk Sandy and his wife Lisa, Clarksburg; 5 grandchildren, Abigail, Zachary, Emily, Maura, and James “Jim” Sandy, Jr.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, and in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Sandy; and three sisters, Freda Bramer; Delores Palmer; and Thelma Jean Curry.
Wayne served in the US Marine Corp, and was a former salesman and driver for Clarksburg Casket Company. He enjoyed working on small engines and clocks, and also playing cards.
He was a wonderful husband and father, and he was loved by all who knew him.
Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, May 28, 2010, at the Sardis Cemetery with Reverend David Hulme presiding.
