Back Send condolences to the Ferguson Family

David Lynn Ferguson, 60, of Stoney Run Road, Jane Lew, passed away Friday morning, May 14, 2010, at his residence. He was born in Clarksburg on December 29, 1949, a son of the late Perry H. Ferguson, Jr. and Virginia Madge Wine Ferguson.
He is survived by his companion of several years, Madeline “Mattie” Williams.
Also surviving are two sons, David Lynn Ferguson Jr., Akron, OH; and Steven Ryan Ferguson, New Philadelphia, OH; five brothers, Perry Ferguson and his wife Leona, Saltwell; Kenneth Ferguson and his wife Linda; Flemington; Virgil Ferguson and his wife Kay, Stonewood; James Ferguson, Stonewood; Jerry Ferguson and his wife Kathy, Clarksburg; six sisters, Leona Winters and her husband Jeff, Grafton; Judy Russell and her husband Gary, Broken Arrow, OK; Debbie Eagle and her husband Clarence, Clarksburg; Helen Mayle and her husband Jim, Clarksburg; Betty Young and her husband Lewis, Bristol; and Carolyn Green and her husband Dwayne, Flemington; six nieces and ten nephews. He is also survived by Mattie’s children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley Bruce Ferguson and Marvin L. Ferguson.
David was a heavy equipment operator, working for over 35 years as a construction worker. He was a former cook and food coordinator at the Clarksburg Mission and had served two years in the US Merchant Marines. He was Baptist by faith.
Friends may call at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Sunday from 2 – 8 pm. Following the visitation, David will be cremated, and a graveside service and interment will be held at Bridgeport Cemetery at a later date.

I'm so sorry I missed the Funeral!! I just saw it in the paper a few minutes ago. I remember when Grandpa Reich died and David came to the Funeral Home - I was in 5th or 6th grade I think - I had been pestering Dad (Charles Reich) for some gum and he didn't have any. David came in and he had gum. Dad said," You've been pestering me for gum all evening, David will give you some." I remember being bashful because I didn't remember who he was so Dad had to tell me and I wouldn't ask him for gum but he gave it to me. Please let me know when the Graveside Service will be and I'll try to make it to that. I just recently found out he had cancer. I know how rough that is on the patient and the family - my Mother died from complications of cancer in Oct 1999. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you! Karen (Reich) Denholm
