Back Send condolences to the Weekley Family

Dorothy Lee Weekley, 78, of Brushy Fork Community, Bridgeport, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at her home. She was born in Buckhannon on December 14, 1931, a daughter of the late Alva H. and Rita Pearl Hyre Smith.
Twice married, she was preceded in death by husbands George Charnoplosky and Lee Weekley.
She is survived by her three sons, George Charnoplosky and his wife Tippi of Belington; Anthony Charnoplosky and his wife Beatrice of Bridgeport; and Philip Charnoplosky and his wife Lois of Clarksburg; seven grandchildren, Lori Charnoplosky, Raleigh, NC; John Charnoplosky and his wife Ashlee, Morgantown; Teresa Owens and her husband Thomas, Corbin, KY; Alisa Spiker and her husband Toby, Culloden, WV; Rebecca Patterson and her husband David, Wolf Summit; Anthony Charnoplosky II, Bridgeport; Cody Charnoplosky, Clarksburg; and two great-granddaughters, Hannah and Rosalie Spiker, Culloden. Two sisters, Betty Watson, Indiana; Hilda Lee, Buckhannon; a special friend, Sue Fazzini; and several nieces and nephews complete her family.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John Charnoplosky, a grandson, Shawn Charnoplosky; and four brothers, Robert, Harold, Richard and James Smith.
Dorothy was a loving mother and grandmother who was always very proud of her family. She was a homemaker and enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing bingo. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, Belington; Belington Ladies Auxiliary; a Gold Star Mother; and Order of the Eastern Star.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2010, with Pastor Doyle Rider presiding. Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery, Philippi.

George, Tony and Charnoplosky Family: Our deepest sympathy to ALL of you. Dad has been in the hospital and we just got him out yesterday when I heard about the passing of your dear, beautiful mother, Dorothy. I’m so sorry and I would have been there but didn’t know until yesterday when picking up dad … mom had mentioned did I know and I said No. If any of you should need anything please let me know.
