Back Send condolences to the Murphy Family
Mrs. Robin Denise (Yeager) Murphy, 49, of Adamsville, entered eternal rest on Sunday April 11, 2010after a long and courageous battle with Renal Cell Carcinoma. Robin was born in Clarksburg on August 22, 1960 to Harlin Blaine Yeager and Dorothy Ann (Kuzniar) Yeager. Her father Blaine survives in Jarvisville and her mother Dorothy preceded her in death on April 11, 2004.
She was the childhood sweetheart and cherished, beloved wife of Pastor George Earnest Murphy. They were united in marriage on October 22, 1978.
On July 2, 1987 they were blessed with the birth of twin daughters, Ashley Nicole Murphy and Koa Michelle Murphy, both who live at home. Koa is engaged to Frank Barberio Jr. On April 3, 1989 they were blessed again with the birth of a son, George Earnest Murphy II. Earnie is now married to Crystal Gayle (Davis) Murphy and they live in Enterprise. These blessings were truly the love and light of her life.
Robin had two brothers and two sisters, brother Robert Lee Yeager and wife Gretchen of Jarvisville, and their son Christopher; brother Brian Allen Yeager of Lisbon, Ohio; sister Carrie Dianne Lambert and husband Craig of Nitro, their children Zachary Lyons, Timothy Lyons, Jacob Lambert, Abigail Lambert; and sister Holly Lynn Yeager of Nitro. Robin is also survived by her paternal Grandmother, Hazel Yeager of Salem, who always held a special place in her heart.
Robin was a loving, family oriented person and loved her extended family also: Aunt Rebecca Sue Rice, and her husband Eddie, their children Paul Rice, wife Stephanie, children Katie and Sammy Marcie Raol and husband Vijay; Aunt Bobbie Henderson and children, Wayne, Roger, Richard and Dorothy; Uncle Stanley Kuznair, wife Emma“Pete”, their children Martin and Keith; Uncle Charles Yeager, children Bernie, Chuck, Kathy, Doug and their mother Sue Wallace; Uncle James Yeager, wife Betsy, children Brenda, Kristi, Rachel; Aunt Shelba Zirkle, husband Roger, children Rick Sperry, Darren Sperry, and Jill Swain; Aunt Marlene Chevrount, husband Charlie, their children Randy and Chad. She was also blessed by many close friends including, Jean Travis, Sonny Bolyard, Donna McCullough, Carolyn Wentz, Laura Herron, Nancy Duda to name a few. She also held a special love for Jacob Wentz who affectionately called her “Bin”. She was proud to have played a small role in his life.
Robin graduated from Liberty High School with the class of 1978. After graduation and marriage she worked for Ames department stores until the birth of the children. She then became a caring and devoted full time mother. Robin enjoyed the outdoors. She had a love for flower gardening and shared them with all who admired them. She was an accomplished pianist and also played the Hammered Dulcimer. Quilting, especially by hand, was another hobby. She loved spending time with Dot Lemon and fellow quilters at WV Heritage Crafts at Quiet Dell. Robin was a member of the North Bend Strippers, a quilting guild, with who she looked forward to spending time with twice a year at their retreats. She cherished this time with all her quilting friends, always looking forward to these with great anticipation. Robin was a member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church where she attended with her Grandmother Hazel. It was there that she dedicated her life to God and was baptized. She played the piano and attended several other churches as her husband ministered. She had a gift of love about her that never stopped giving. Robin never met a stranger. A very caring person, always ready to encourage and lift up anyone in need, never complaining but instead had a smile for all to see. She truly was the great women behind her husband in every endeavor, never wavering in her faith or support. Her love was the greatest gift her husband ever received.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Tuesday from 2 – 8 p.m., where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 2010, with Dr. Haymond R. Plaugher and Dr. Victor Shields presiding.
