Back Send condolences to the Hill Family
Charles Ryan Hill, 82, of Bridgeport passed away on Tuesday April 6, 2010 at United Hospital Center. He was born September 29, 1927 in Bridgeport a son of the late Jeddie B. Hill and Zada Bartlett Hill.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nan Greathouse Hill whom he married on February 10, 1949.
He is also survived by one son, Lonnie Hill and his wife Dianna of Saltwell; one daughter Rebecca Quickle and her husband Roger of Ohio; five grandchildren, Stephen Hostutler, Lacey Hill, Lonnie Hill, Jr., Daniel Hill and Zachary Hill; two great grandchildren, Layne Hostutler and Kolby Hill.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jeddy Hill
Charles was a graduate of Bridgeport High School and was a retired rural letter carrier from the Bridgeport Post office having worked for 34 years. He also enjoyed landscaping and loved to work his farm which was in his family for six generations. Charles was a member of the Masonic Lodge #63 AF & AM and a member of the Nemisis Shriners in Parkersburg.
Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue on Friday April 9, 2010 from 10:00 am to 2 pm, where funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm with Reverend Benny Simmons presiding. Interment will be Bridgeport Cemetery, Bridgeport.
