ANN LAPE – Beloved Mother – went to be with her Lord March 8, 2010. Born April
18, 1922 to the late Mary (Komer) and Joseph Evanesky, Ann was raised in Mather,
PA where her father was killed in the Mather Mine explosion of 1928.
In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death in 1989 by her husband of 48 years, Clell S. Lape. She was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Joseph Evanesky, three sisters and their husbands: Marie (Mike) Balaban, Margaret (Michael) Brenzovich, and Helen (John) Kniha.
Ann is survived by her children: Betty (Jack) Marshall of Trinity, FL, Patti (Ray) Punday of Bridgeport, WV, Sam (Patti Gene) Lape of Chalk Hill, PA, Cheryl (Robert, Jr.) McCauslin of Ligonier, PA and Jim (Lee) Lape of Findlay Township, PA, ten grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by a brother, John (and late Cassie) Evanesky of Fostoria, OH and a sister, Betty (and late Bill) Durbin of Murrysville, PA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Prior to her retirement, Ann was employed by the Uniontown Area School District in Uniontown, PA.
Ann was a devout Catholic who loved God and family above all else. She devoted herself to her children and was a wonderful mother, friend, and confidant.
Family will receive friends at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Saturday, April 17, 2010, from 10 - 11:30 a.m. Catholic Burial Rites to celebrate Ann’s life will be held at 11:30 am. Another memorial service and burial will be held at St. Joan of Arc Church, Farmington, PA at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 18, 2010.
