Dottie Mae Brown, 85, of Clarksburg passed away on Saturday March 6, 2010 at United Hospital Center.  She was born August 19, 1924 in Dola, a daughter of the late Ross Barker    and Maggie Flowers Barker. 

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bacil Ellis Brown who passed away on August 24, 2007.

 

She is survived by three sons Dennis Ellis Brown and his wife Rita of Adamston, Steven L. Brown of Adamston and Michael R. Brown and his wife Carol of North View; five grandchildren including Nathan C. Brown of Adamston, Matthew S. Brown of Adamston, Buffy Ashcraft and her husband Curtis of Martinsburg; Michael D. Brown and his wife Emily of Clarksburg and Jessica Hogue and her husband Scott of East View; four step-grandchildren, Shonny Britton of Charlotte, NC, Wayne Moats and his wife Pam of Hackers Valley, WV, Crystal Manzie of Columbus, OH and Bridgette Miles of Clarksburg; two great-grandchildren, Connor and A.J. Hogue; eight step great-grandchildren; and one sister, Juanita Moore of Salem.

 

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

 

Mrs. Brown took great pride in being a homemaker and raising her family.  She will be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

 

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Monday from 4 - 8 pm, where services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, with Reverend Etheldean Yanero, presiding.  Interment will follow in Bridgeport Cemetery, Bridgeport.
