Back Send condolences to the Woodson Family

William Thomas Woodson, 73, of Anmoore, passed away Friday evening, February 26, 2010, in the United Hospital Center following a courageous three-year battle with cancer. He was born in Lost Creek on October 25, 1936, a son of the late Claude Everett and Cleo Rice Woodson.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lorena A. “Cricket” Gregory Woodson.
Also surviving are two daughters, Rondallyn A. Lipscomb; and Lisa R. Robinson and her husband Bill, all of Anmoore; three grandchildren, David W. Lipscomb, Anmoore; Ericka R. Register and her husband Chad of Tyndall Air Force Base, Panama City, FL; and Thomas S. Robinson, Anmoore; two great-grandchildren, Alexis C. Lipscomb and Chloe N. Register; and his beloved pet Shih-Tzu Andrew. Three brothers, Jim Woodson and his wife Dot, Warsaw, Ohio; Richard “Dick” Woodson and his wife Jane, Odessa, TX; and Kenneth Woodson and his wife Terry, Clarksburg; and several nieces and nephews complete his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Claude “Junior” Woodson; Dale “Jack” Woodson; David Woodson; and John Woodson.
Bill was the former owner and operator of Woodson Pallet Company on Brushy Fork Road for over 30 years. He worked all of his life in the lumber business, starting at Montana Lumber Company in Anmoore until starting his own business in 1972. He was a Hall of Fame Bowler and an avid golfer, and he truly loved his golfing buddies. He loved hunting and fishing with his grandchildren and his Red Creek University buddies. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Friend will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2010. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Sincere condolences to Cricket and family. Sorry I won’t be able to attend the viewing. Bill was one of the strong positive influences on my bowling early on, and he will be missed by all of us on Wednesdays. Gerry Loudin

We are deeply sorry to hear of the passing of Bill. He was a very good friend and a friend to everyone. Our hearts go out to his family. Bob & Jean Ritter

Dear Aunt Cricket, Rondy, Lisa, and families, Uncle Bill will be greatly missed. Sorry we were not able to attend the calling hours or the funeral. All of you will be in my thoughts and prayers in the coming days. Jenni Woodson Brown
