Darrell E. Waugh, Sr., 71, of Clarksburg went home to be with the Lord on Friday January 22, 2010 at the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Hospital.  He was born April 22, 1938 in Gaines, WV a son of the late Kenneth Hazel Waugh and Nona Merritt Haymond Waugh. 

He is survived by his wife Betty Goodwin Waugh whom he married on November 11, 1959.  In addition to his wife he is also survived by two sons, Darrell E. Waugh,  Jr. and is wife Karen of Beavercreek, OH; Robert W. Waugh and his wife Lisa of Bridgeport; a daughter Cynthia L. Turner and her husband Steve of Chesterfield, VA; five grandchildren, Robby and Katie Waugh, of Beavercreek, OH, Wesley Muto of Chesterfield, VA; Jaclyn Howard and husband Dan of Bridgeport; Lindsey Mayle and husband Justin of Grafton; two great-grandchildren, Brynna Mayle of Grafton and Danika Howard of Bridgeport; and a sister, Wanita Hamilton of Bradenton, FL. 

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Forrest Warren “Buddy”  Waugh and one great-granddaughter Kylie Waugh.

Mr. Waugh was retired from Stone and Thomas in Clarksburg.  He was also a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, a member and deacon of Stewart Chapel Family of God Freewill Baptist Church in Clarksburg and President of the Harrison County Geneological Society.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Steward Chapel Family of God Freewill Baptist Church, Rt. 2 Box 868 A Clarksburg, WV 26301, Robert Brown Treasurer.

Family and friends may be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue on Monday from 3:00-7:00 pm where funeral services will be conducted on Monday January 25, 2010 at 7:00 pm with Reverend Leonard Madia presiding.  Interment will be held at a later date.
