Frances Kaye Lamb McQueen, 73, of Bridgeport, passed away Saturday morning, December 12, 2009, at her residence following an extended illness.  She was born in Copley, WV on August 23, 1936, a daughter of the late Ollie Lamb and Agnes Smith Lamb.                                           .

 

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Wilber McQueen. 

 

In addition to her husband she is also survived by three children, Rebecca "Becky" Crutchfield and her husband Steve of Maple Lake, William "Bill" McQueen and his wife Charlene of Fairmont and Don McQueen and his wife Connie of Bridgeport; eight grandchildren, Bethany Crutchfield Cutright and her husband Jason of Bridgeport, Nathan Crutchfield of Halibut Cove AK, Casey Jo McQueen and her fiancée Dave Wilson of Denver NC, Whitney McQueen of Bridgeport, Brad McQueen and his fiancée Lee Lawson of Fairmont, Brian McQueen, Darren McQueen and Sara McQueen all of Bridgeport; two great grandchildren, Breanna Cutright and Wesley Cutright.

 

Mrs. McQueen was an active member of the Middleville Baptist Church and she was a former member of the Western Square Dance Club, the Centennial Squares, also she was a member of the Bridgeport Benedum Festival Committee and a member of the Central WV Antique Automotive Club.

 

Family and friends may call Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Sunday from 2 - 6 p.m. and on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.  Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 11:00 am with Pastor Paul Boyles presiding.  Interment will follow in West Virginia National Cemetery.

Mon, Dec 14, 2009 5:15 pm We are so very sad at the passing of your dearly beloved KAY.  She was a person that was the same sweet gal every time you would see her.  Jim and I graduated with her in 1954 and we always felt she was a very good friend and classmate.  Wilbur you are loved and in our prayers.  Sue and Jim Davis.
