Back        Send condolences to the Snopps Family

Linda Joyce Snopps, 65, of Lost Creek passed away on Sunday November 22, 2009 at her residence.  She was born January 20, 1944 in Lumberport, a daughter of the late Ira Kearns and Grace Edge Kearns. 

She is survived by her husband, George Wesley Snopps whom she married on April 13, 1962; three children, George Snopps of Clarksburg, Kenny Snopps and his wife Twyla of Lost Creek and Angel McCarty and her husband Mike of Mount Clare; three grandchildren, Joseph Snopps, Zackery McCarty and Desirae Hinds; one sister, Sandra White of Shinnston; and one brother, William “Billy” Kearns of Flemington. 

Mrs. Snopps was preceded in death by one brother, James Kearns. 

She was a very active member of the Bridgeport Church of Christ and her special project was to provide quilts to the homeless throughout the area.  She also took clothing and supplies to Bartlett House for Abused Women and she supported a little girl in Honduras, “Rosalynn.”

At her request, Mrs. Snopps will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

To those I love

When I am gone, just release me, let me go-so I can move into my afterglow.  You mustn’t tie me down with your tears; lets be happy that we had so many years.  I gave you my love; you can only guess how much you gave me in happiness.  I thank you for the love you each have shown, but now its time I traveled on alone.  So grieve for me awhile, if grieve you must, then let your grief be comforted with trust.  It’s only for a while that we must part, so bless the memories within your heart.  And then, when you must come this way alone, I’ll greet you with a smile and a “Welcome Home.”
