Back Send condolences to the Herron Family

Daniel Lloyd Herron, 80, of Suds Run Community, Mt. Clare, passed away Sunday morning, August 2, 2009, in Clarksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following an eight month illness. He was born on March 14, 1929, in Clarksburg, a son of the late Jack L. and Irene Radcliff Herron.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Juanita Greynolds Herron.
He is also survived by two sons, Daniel L. Herron, Jr. of Tuscarawas, OH and John R. Herron and his companion Alisa Huffman of Dunbar; two daughters, Carol Sue Osborn of Salem and Juanita Jane (Nita) McKown and her husband Randy of Suds Run; two grandsons, Donald Osborn and Daniel C. Herron; four granddaughters, Lori Palmer and her husband Chris, Amanda Edge and her husband Jason, Nicole Householder, and Haley Lynn Herron; 4 great-granddaughters, Victoria Osborn, Andrea Palmer, Kiersten Edge, and Hunter Edge, and one great-great-grandson, Caleb James Fore. A brother, Harold G. Herron and his wife Barbara Jo, Hoop Pole Run; a sister, Doris Skinner, Chestnut Hills; a brother-in-law, John H. Greynolds and his wife Ellen; two sisters-in-law, Betty Jane Surprenant and her husband Ed, and Martha Ann Mitchell and her husband Elmer; and several nieces and nephews complete his family
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ronald L. Herron on July 17, 2009; two brothers, Robert Herron and James L. Herron; a grandson, John Alan Osborn; in-laws, Hoy J. Greynolds and his wife Eva; and Lillian C. Russell; one brother-in-law, Paul Wayne Haggerty, and a sister-in-law, Marjorie Carol Bartlett.
In his younger days he worked in the coal fields, driving trucks, hauling and operating heavy equipment. He also drove tractor trailer for State Distributing Co. for several years. Later he owned and operated Tri-State Brake Lining in Clarksburg for 18 years, and he also raised cattle.
Danny was an avid sportsman. He loved to hunt and fish, going deep sea-fishing at Hatteras and fishing in Lake Erie, camping and boating, and most of all spending time with his family and many friends. He was an avid WVU Mountaineer fan.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm Tuesday, where services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, August 5, 2009, with Reverend George Bramble presiding. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
