Jane Modispaugh, 86, of Bristol, passed away Friday evening, July 31, 2009, in Sunbridge at Salem.  She was born in Braxton County on December 18, 1922, a daughter of the late William Clayton and Leo Gerwig Seal. 

On October 12, 1946, she married Hubert A. Modispaugh, who preceded her in death in 1985. 

She is survived by two sons, Roger W. Modispaugh and his wife Vickie, Warren, OH; and Hubert J. Modispaugh and his wife Suzette, Marshville; five grandchildren, Melissa Goddard and her husband Dan, Kansas City, Missouri;  Tamara Belanger and her husband Keith, Warren, OH;  Roger II Modispaugh and his wife Lisa, Warren, OH;  Tracey Modispaugh, Marshville; and  Tanya Modispaugh, Marshville; 3 great-grandchildren, Aidan Goddard; and Taylor Belanger and Ethan Modispaugh; 2 step-great-grandchildren, Triston Goddard and Nick Belanger; 2 brothers, Clayton Seal, Marshville; and Bradford Seal, Butler, PA; and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John D. Seal, and a sister, Oreka Rogers.

Jane was a member of the Marshville Baptist Church and the Marshville Homemakers.  She also was a member of the Marshville Senior Citizens, Rose Rebekah Lodge 165, Wolf Summit and Orpha Chapter #30 Order of the Eastern Star, Salem.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm.  Ivy Rebekah Lodge #112, Clarksburg, will hold a memorial service at 7 pm Monday evening.  Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday morning, August 4, 2009, at 10 am with Reverend Ronald M. Owens presiding.  Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Mt. Clare.
