Back Send condolences to the Davis Family
Helen Marie Roda Davis, 63, of Bridgeport passed away on Sunday July 19, 2009 at her residence. She was born on June 22, 1946 in Clarksburg a daughter of the late Louis Roda and Mary Catherine LaRosa Roda.
She is survived by one daughter, Marla Talkington and her husband Marvin of Bridgeport; one son, Louie Davis and his wife Kelly of Bluefield; three grandchildren, Alexandra Marie Talkington, Louis Gary Davis, II and Kayla Marie Davis; two sisters, Charlene Elkins of Meadowbrook, and Mary Lou Renzelli of Bridgeport.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Gary Davis who passed away in 2000. She was also preceded in death by infant brother Patsy Roda.
Helen was Catholic by faith and also attended Horizons Church in Lost Creek with her family. She loved to cook and never let anyone leave the house without eating. More than anything she loved to be around her family and friends and was always known as the peacemaker.
Family and friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Tuesday July 21, 2009 from 2-7pm. A funeral liturgy outside the mass will be conducted on Tuesday at 7:00PM with Sister Maria Joseph conducting the service. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date which will be announced.
