Back Send condolences to the Herron Family

Ronald Lynn Herron, age 57, of Glen Burnie, MD, passed away Friday, July 17, 2009 after a long, courageous battle with cancer at his parents residence with all of his family present. He was born March 26, 1952 in Clarksburg, a son of Daniel L. and Juanita Greynolds Herron of Suds Run Community, Mt. Clare.
In addition to his parents, Ronald is survived by his daughter, Haley Lynn Herron of Charleston, two brothers, Daniel L. Herron, Jr. of Tuscarawas, OH and John R. Herron and his companion Alisa Huffman of Dunbar; two sisters, Carol Sue Osborn of Salem and Juanita (Nita) McKown and her husband Randy of Suds Run; nieces Lori McKown Palmer and her husband Christopher, Amanda Jo(Mandy) Herron Edge and her husband Jason, Nicole Householder; nephews Daniel C. Herron and Donald Osborn; great-nieces Andrea Palmer, Kiersten Edge, Hunter Edge and Victoria Osborn and a great-nephew, Caleb James Fore.
His dear cousins, Lorene Carpenter & Kristal Hogue, RN and his best friend Chuck McChesney transported him to his parents’ home from MD to spend his final days.
He was raised in Lost Creek and often returned to the area to visit. He graduated from South Harrison High School in 1971. This is where his love of music began, playing guitar in a small band. He later played in a local band, Jim Davis and the Country Squires.
Ron, who was well known in the horse show circles in the early 70's, rode first in the Hunter Class and then in Open Jumping. He rode Moday's Buddy to the State and Interstate Open Jumping Championships. At one time he managed the Blue and Gold Stables in Charleston.
Being a certified electrician he worked for several construction companies in the Charleston area and later formed his own business, Herron Electric. In 1999, he moved to Glen Burnie, MD, where he was an electrician on many major projects in the Baltimore area. His latest employment was with CNC Flooring owned by Chuck McChesney.
An avid sports fan, Ron was a true WV Mountaineer, win or lose. Fishing, hunting and camping were his passions, as well as spending time with his family.
Ron never met a stranger and his many relatives and friends in the Lost Creek area, Charleston and Glen Burnie will miss him very much.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm Monday. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at the funeral home with Reverend George Bramble presiding. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
