Fred Danes, 72, of Adamston, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday July 11, 2009.  He was born October 19, 1936 in Clarksburg a son of the late Mike Danes and Liddia Anderson Danes. 

He is survived by his wife  of  53 years, Carolyn O’Dell Danes whom he married on November 13, 1955.  He is also survived by three sons, Michael Danes and his wife Beth of Goodlettsville, TN, Anthony Lee Danes of San Diego, CA and Mark Danes and his wife Laura of Durham, NC; seven grandchildren, Brandon, Alex, Nicholas, Samuel, Sophia, Emily and John Danes; one brother, Bob Danes of Barberton, OH; two sisters, Jospehine Panuski of Forth Worth , TX and Delores Gettings of Clarksburg; and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Joe, Noah, infant brother Calvin, and Sam Danes; three sisters, an infant sister, Mary, Rosie Reed and Gertrude Messineo. 

Fred was retired from the United States Air Force after having served for twenty years, following his retirement he also went to work at the VA Hospital where he served under various capacities.  Mr. Danes was a member of the Clarksburg Baptist Church and of the Adamston Lions Club and he loved to play pinochle. 

Family and friends may call Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Tuesday July 14, 2009 from 3-8PM.  Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Pastor David L. Hulme officiating.  Interment will be in the WV National Cemetery, Pruntytown.
