Back Send condolences to the Saas Family
David L. Saas, Sr, 78, of Suds Run Road, Mt. Clare, went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday morning, May 18, 2009, in Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born in Clarksburg on July 31, 1930, a son of the late William Franklin and Mabel Blanche Patton Saas.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Stutler Saas; eight children, Teri Lynn Goots, Clarksburg; Paula Louise Leigh, Buckhannon; Steven Lee Saas, Philippi; David Lee Saas, Jr., Marshall, VA; Sally Ann Nestor, Mt. Clare; Dianne McWhorter, West Milford; Montica Alonso, Clarksburg; and Robb Fox, Clarksburg; 24 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew Charles Saas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Fox; a brother, Louis Saas; and three sisters, Margaret Gilman, Betty Kellum, and Christine Finley.
David was a graduate of R-W High School, and served in the US Army. He had worked for 27 years at PPG, and 17 years at Fourco as a maintenance manager.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, baseball, gardening, and playing cards.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Tuesday from 5 – 8 pm, where services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, with Pastor Bill Lanham presiding. Interment will follow in Wolfe Cemetery, where Military Funeral Honors will be provided by VFW Post 9151 Color Guard and Camp Dawson WV Honor Guard.
