Evelyn Lee Miller, 65, of Lakeland Terrace, Bridgeport went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday evening, May 5, 2009, from Ruby Memorial Hospital.  She was born September 19, 1943, in Mannington, a daughter of the late Ernest Masters, the late Virginia Catherine Fluharty Sine, and Edward C. Sine, who survives on Drake’s Run in Mannington.

Also surviving are two daughters, Rochelle White Stephenson of Bridgeport and Jaime White of Clarksburg; her grandson Jeff Weimer, Bridgeport; two sisters, Dalene Horner and her husband Skip, and Eva Lou Yoho and her husband William;  one nephew, Richie Yoho; three nieces, Catie Yoho, Bridget and Brittany Horner, all of Mannington.

Evelyn was a graduate of Fairmont State College where she received her BS in Education.  She taught music, English and reading for 42 years at Bridgeport Jr. High School and Bridgeport Middle School, retiring in May 2008.  She was an active member of Simpson Creek Baptist Church where she was a pianist for 26 years and formerly served as choir director.  She was also the pianist for The Master’s Blend and played for Bridgeport High School plays and vocal recitals.  She also taught private piano lessons and dearly loved all of her students.  She will be sadly missed and loved by all who knew her.

 Friends will be received at Simpson Creek Baptist Church, 231 W. Philadelphia Ave. Bridgeport, on Thursday from 2:00 – 8:00 pm, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 8, 2009, with Dr. C. Michael Hopkins presiding.   Interment will follow in Bridgeport Cemetery.
