Back Send condolences to the Police Family
Jimmy “Sonny” Junior Police, 68, of Clarksburg, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at his home. He was born November 7, 1940, in Galloway, a son of the late Jim Police and Angelean B. Rowe Police Petroff.
He is survived by his wife, Dottie Police.
He is also survived by his daughter, Angie Police, Maryland; step-daughter, Tammy Ashby and her husband Bill of Maryland; six grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Petroff of Bridgeport; three sisters, Sheila Angie Police, Morgantown; Brenda Gaines, Flemington; and Linda Boggs, Clarksburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Crystal Police, and one brother Frankie Lee Police.
Sonny had been employed at Union National Bank and Bank One, Clarksburg, as a maintenance man. He was formerly employed by General Motors in Baltimore, and was a veteran of the US Army. He attended Gospel Barn Assembly in Brownton, and loved to fish and to attend revivals of local churches.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport on Monday from 9 – 11 am, where services will be held on Monday at 11 am with Pastor Jim Davis presiding. Interment will follow in WV National Cemetery, where Military Funeral Honors will be accorded.
