Guy Russell “Bud” Carpenter, 59, of Clarksburg, passed away under the care of People’s Hospice on Sunday morning, March 29, 2009, at his son Russell’s residence following an extended illness.  He was born in Pike, Ritchie County on March 29, 1950, a son of the late Dellie Carpenter and Ethel Delancey Carpenter Flanigan. 

He is survived by two sons, Russell Carpenter and his wife Kimberly, Clarksburg, and William “Bil” Carpenter and his wife Jessica, Washington; and his granddaughter, Izabela Carpenter. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Grimes.

 Bud was a graduate of R-W High School and was a driver for Palace Furniture.  He was the manager at what started as the Boron station on Chestnut and Main Street, Clarksburg, which eventually became the Go-Mart, where he had over 25 years of service. 

 He liked to coon hunt, deer hunt, and go fishing and camping.  He was a member of the Clarksburg Moose and was a former president of the Eagles Club in Buckhannon.

 Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, where services will be held on Friday, April 3, 2009, at 11 am with Reverend John E. Greaver presiding.  Interment will follow in Bridgeport Cemetery.
