Back Send condolences to the Wilburn Family


Dianna Sue Boothe Wilburn, 54, of Ashland, Virginia, passed away Thursday evening, March 26, 2009, following an extended illness. She was born in Logan on July 25, 1954, a daughter of Ilahmae Frances Maggard Boothe Curry, who survives in Clarksburg, and the late John Gordon Boothe.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her step-father, Alonzo Curry; her husband, John D. Wilburn; a daughter, Donnetta Sue White, Erwin, NC; a son, Benny Royal Schneider, II, Erwin, NC; two step-daughters, Lisa Austin, Ashland, Virginia; and Amy Wilburn, Richmond, VA; five grandchildren, Victoria Sue Dennis and Oliver Kincaid Dennis, both of Dunn, NC; Michael Logan Taylor, Erwin, NC; Alona Schneider and Gavin Noel Schneider, both of Dunn, NC; a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas Gordon Boothe and his wife Marion, Buckhannon; a half-brother, Keith Allen Curry, Jarvisville; three step-brothers, Robert Curry, Memphis, TN; Gary Curry, Norfolk, VA; and Barry Curry, LaPlace, Louisiana; two step-sisters, Nancy Kurtz, Cary, NC; and Marietta Benson, Chester, SC; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a special friend whom she regarded as a brother, Ralph Curry.
Dianna was a former employee of Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center, Clarksburg, and the McQuire Veterans Hospital, Richmond, VA, where she was a patient service assistant for over 13 years. She served in the Army from January 1974 thru May 1986, and was a graduate of Logan High School.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at the funeral home with Reverend John Freeman and Reverend Dick Chipps presiding. Interment will follow in WV National Cemetery, where Military Funeral Honors will be accorded.
