Back Send condolences to the Alexander Family
Lucille Alexander, 78, of Geneva Street, Bridgeport, passed away Friday, March 13, 2009 at Fairmont General Hospital. She was born June 17, 1930 in Glen Falls, a daughter of the late Thomas N. Riggs and Rhoda May Culbertson Riggs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Alexander on April 3, 1998.
She is survived by her son, James Joseph Alexander, Bridgeport; a granddaughter, Julie Policano, Bridgeport; a grandson, John “J.J.” Starkey, who currently attends the University of Las Vegas and who had made his home with Don and Kym Burton and their children, Grant and Sarah in Bridgeport; two sisters, Dorothy Worth, Fairmont, and Betty Matheny, Bridgeport; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Josephine Ferguson; 3 sisters, Mona Slonaker, Maxine Shaffer, and Irene Worth; and two brothers, Scott Riggs and Arthur Riggs.
Lucille was a graduate of Bridgeport High School. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, from 9 – 11 am , where services will be held at 11 am with Pastor Raymond Slonaker presiding. Interment will follow in Bridgeport Cemetery.
