Jack David Patterson, 80, of Gawthrop Lane, Clarksburg, passed away Monday afternoon, March 2, 2009, in the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center.  He was born in Clarksburg on April 5, 1928, a son of the late Samuel D. and Grace O’Field Patterson.

 He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Waneta C. Fisher Patterson; a son and daughter-in-law, David M and Linda Patterson, Clarksburg; 3 grandsons, David M. Patterson, Scott A. Patterson and his wife Tara, and Jimmy Joe Patterson, all of Clarksburg; a  great-grandson, Colton Scott Patterson, a great-granddaughter, Savanna Patterson; and a special niece, Judy Wilson and her husband Glen; three great-nieces, Tammy Jenkins and her husband Earl; Amy Bevard and her husband Abe; Betsy Chesterson and her husband John; five great-great-nieces and nephews, Alisha Jenkins, Tucker and Austin Bevard and Zail and  Autumn Chesterson, all of Newark, OH.

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Madeline Goff.

 Jack was a graduate of Victory High School, and served in the US Army during the Korean War.  He retired from Eagle Convex Glass in 1994 after 25 years of service.  He had also worked as a tractor trailer mechanic for several trucking outfits.  He enjoyed camping in Hardy County, fishing, hunting, and golfing.  He was a member of Word of Life Church.

 Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm, where services will be held at 11:30am on Thursday, March 5, 2009, with Pastor George Mesto presiding. Interment will follow at WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown.
