Arthur Russell Matheny
Arthur Russell Matheny, 68, of Boothsville, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at his residence. He was born October 2, 1940, in Lodgeville, a son of Betty Lee Riggs Matheny who survives in Bridgeport, and the late Paul Edward Matheny.
In addition to his mother, Arthur is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Costilow Matheny of Clarksburg ; his daughter, Alicia Ellen Matheny of Huntington; two sisters, Linda Yerkey and her husband Bernard of Clarksburg; and Crystal Ann Perrine and her husband Willis of Amissville, VA; one brother Stephen P. Matheny and his wife Sheila of Bridgeport; a niece, Laura Clark and her husband Thomas, West Milford; and a nephew, Bernard N. Yerkey, Clarksburg; 3 great-nieces and 2 great-nephews.
Arthur was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He had worked for several area coal mines, Rolland Glass Factory and for PPG.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Friday, December 19, 2008, from 10 – 11 am, where services will be held at 11 am with Pastor Jimmy Metheny and Pastor Raymond Slonaker presiding. Interment will follow in Bridgeport Cemetery.
