Earl C. "Junior" DePolo

Earl C. “Junior” DePolo, 66, of Rosemont, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2008, in Ruby Memorial Hospital.  He was born in Meadowbrook on October 24, 1942, a son of the late Earl Calvin Blankenship and the late Teresa and Mike Urtso.   

He is survived by 4 children, Jason DePolo, Indian Rocks Beach, FL; Treasa Chidester and her husband Wesley, and their son, Jacob, of Redondo Beach, CA;  Stephanie Skidmore and her husband Ray, and their children Cody, Austin, and Kamryn, Rosemont; and Michael DePolo and his fiancée Heidi Hixon, and son Landon DePolo, Bruceton Mills; his former wives, Deborah Bays DePolo, Washington, DC; and Debbie Hudkins DePolo, Elkins. Two brothers, Leonard Urtso, Beckley; and Michael Urtso and his wife Stacy, Dallas, TX; 3 sisters, Shirley Brown and her husband Bob; Pam Mantooth; and Tammy Abraham and her husband Darren, all of Bridgeport; and many nieces and nephews complete his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Mary Frances DePolo; and a brother-in-law, Billy Joe Mantooth.

Earl Junior attended Shinnston High School and WV Business College, and was a small business owner.  An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing poker.  He will be greatly missed by his many close friends whom he cherished deeply.   

Memorial contributions in memory of Earl Junior DePolo are requested to the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, PO Box 9300, Morgantown, WV 26506, designated for Hemophilia Treatment Center, Morgantown.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Thursday from 2 – 8 pm, where services will be held on Friday morning, November 14, 2008, at 11 am with Dr. Frank J. DePolo presiding.  Interment will follow in Flemington IOOF Cemetery, Rosemont.
