Amel Lee Posey
Amel Lee Posey, 89, of Clarksburg, passed away Sunday evening, November 2, 2008, in Country Club Retirement Campus, Dover, OH. He was born in Orlando, Braxton County, on July 7, 1919, a son of the late Ezra Lee and Gertrude Skinner Posey.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry L. and Jacqueline Posey, Carrollton, OH; and Larry L. and Martha Posey, Clarksburg; 4 grandchildren, Jerry Posey, Jr., Bowman, GA; Terry Posey, Danielville, GA; Angela Guy, Highpoint, NC; and Darrell L. Posey, Clarksburg; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Posey, Salem. A brother-in-law, Lynn Riffle, Jane Lew; nieces, Donna Kay Posey, Clarksburg; and Donna Posey, Salem; and nephews, Tom Lynn Riffle, Severn, MD; Robert Posey, OH; and Ronald Posey, Salem, and a good friend and neighbor, Donna Murphy, Wolf Summit, complete his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tammy Hawk; two brothers, Kenneth Posey and Eugene Butler; and four sisters, Mildred Riffle; Zella Gillspie; Mabel and Rose Posey.
Amel retired from Rolland Glass Factory, served in the US Army during World War II, and was a member of VFW #573, Clarksburg. He was Methodist.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm, where services will be held on Thursday morning, November 6, 2008, at 11 am. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
