Imogene Dodrill
Imogene E. Dodrill, 82, of Grand Avenue, Bridgeport, passed away Saturday October 25, 2008. She was born March 25, 1926, a daughter of the late Sherman G. and Hattie E. Rapp Nettles.
Imogene is survived by her husband, Lloyd “Buckshot” Dodrill whom she married August 5, 1955. Also surviving are two daughters, Yvonne Chickeno of Strongsville, OH; and Shari Murdock of Smithfield, NC; three sisters, Eloise Howard of Elyria, OH, Maxine Mullins of Baltimore, MD, and Relda Shields of Marianna, FL; and one brother, Sterling Nettles of Widen, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ernest Chickeno; two sisters, Norma Conner and Ernestine Gray; and one brother Harlan Nettles.
Imogene graduated from Widen High School. She had previously worked for Westinghouse, General Electric and retired from the East Pointe Kroger as a cashier.
She was a member of the Widen Baptist Church. She loved reading, raising Yorkie terriers, and being in the sun.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday October 28, 2008, where the funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday. Visitation will be held at the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church in Widen, WV from 1 – 2 PM on Wednesday. Interment will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery.
