Rosa "Sissy" Stutler
Rosa M. “Sissy” Stutler, 83, formerly of Romines Mill, passed away Friday evening October 24, 2008, following an extended illness. She was born in Romines Mill on January 16, 1925, a daughter of the late William C. and Thelma Bise Creak.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn L. Stutler, on May 20, 1989.
She is survived by four daughters, Sharon Zwick and her husband Charles, Nutter Fort; Joyce Nunes and her husband Joe, Interlocken, MI; and Christy Stewart and her husband John, Clarksburg; Cindy King and her husband Bob, Lost Creek; 5 grandchildren, Danny King, Huntington; A.J. King and his wife Jackie, Lost Creek; Julie Curtis and her husband Darwin, Shepherd, MI; Becky Kelsoe and her husband Ronnie, Blountsville, Alabama; and Jeffrey Stewart, Clarksburg; 6great-grandchildren, Brianna, Brandon, and Brooklyn Kelsoe, and Buddy, Corey and Kionna Curtis; her brother and sister-in-law, Maurice and Elenore Creak; Bridgeport; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Creak; and two sisters, Mary Kallel and Viola Wilson.
Sissy was a very active member of Monroe Chapel United Methodist Church where she had taught Sunday school, was the director of Bible school; and directed the Christmas plays. She loved flowers, gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting and animals. She was a graduate of R-W High School, Class of 1942.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, where services will be held on Tuesday morning, October 28, 2008, at 11 am with Reverend George Bramble presiding. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
