Violet Marie Harless
Violet Marie Harless, 91, formerly of Mt. Hope, WV passed away Thursday afternoon, October 9, 2008. At the time of her death, Mrs. Harless resided in the Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center, Salem, WV. She was born October 29, 1916, a daughter of the late Leonard and Nell Cook Acord.
She was the wife of Leland B. Harless, who passed away November 3, 1981.
Violet is survived by her daughter, Betty Lilly and her husband Reverend Gene Burnside, Nutter Fort; her son, Jack Harless and his wife Joyce, Durham, NC; four grandchildren, Tomi Davis and her husband Bill, Morgantown; Timothy Lilly and his wife Donna, Goochland, VA; Jeremy Harless and his wife Elizabeth, and Bradford Harless, all of Raleigh, NC; great-grandchildren, Stephen Davis and his wife Kristina; Stacy Hollar and her husband Brad; Alex Lilly; and Amy Lilly; and great-great-grandchildren, Rylie and Evan Hollar.
Violet was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by her sister, Thelma Acord Cook; and brothers, Willis Acord, Jack Acord, her twin Vernon Acord, and Bill Acord.
Violet was a member of the Nutter Fort Baptist Church before residing in Mt. Hope.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Saturday evening from 6 – 8 pm. Visitation will then be held at Palm Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Matheny, WV, on Sunday afternoon from 1:30 – 2 pm, where the services will be held at 2 pm with Reverend Gene Burnside presiding.
