Lucia M. Renzelli Amato, 87, passed away Friday evening, September 26, 2008, in Heartland of Clarksburg. She was born December 28, 1920, in Anmoore, a daughter of the late Julio and Maria Grandinetti Renzelli.
On August 17, 1941, she married Nicholas Andrew Amato, who preceded her in death on September 5, 1967.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Victoria Lofaro, Martin, TN; and her son and daughter-in-law, Nicholas and Diane Amato, Setauket, NY; 6 grandchildren, Joe Lofaro and his wife Susan; Michael Lofaro and his wife Shelley; Nicky Lofaro and his wife Brandi; and Gene Lofaro and his wife Sarah; Jennifer Machenheimer and her husband Chuck; and Alex Amato and his wife Abi; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Philip “Kackie” Renzelli and his wife Annie, Bridgeport; and William Renzelli and his wife Nancy, Anmoore; and a sister, Loretta Renzelli Frederick, Anmoore; 4 sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Renzelli, Clarksburg; Rita Renzelli, Lavaughn Renzelli, and Connie Renzelli, all of Bridgeport; a brother-in-law, Shirley Steele, Anmoore; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers, John, Julio “Junior”, Joseph, and Frank Renzelli; and two sisters, Violet Steele and Rose LoBianco.
Lucia was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. After her husband passed away, she returned to WV to reside with her mother and had worked at Hills and Ace Hardware. She loved her family very much and wanted to be close to them.

Friends will be received at All Saints Catholic Church, 317 East Main Street, Bridgeport, on Tuesday, September 30, 2008, from 9 – 11 am, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am with Reverend Father Harry N. Cramer and Reverend Father Hilarion V. Cann as celebrants. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Nick in Long Island National Cemetery, New York.
