Marian Rose "Mary" Marsh
Marian Rose “Mary” Marsh, 76, of Clarksburg, passed away Monday, September 1, 2008, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born in Wheeling on February 7, 1932, a daughter of the late Morton Marsh and Rebecca Petty.
She is survived by her caregivers, Mack and Peggy Cottrill, Clarksburg., and her friend, Henry Hammond, Clarksburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her long-time companion, Jennings Hannah.
Mary was a well-known character who could be seen walking the streets of Shinnston and Clarksburg, as well as being well-known at all the local churches.
The Cottrill’s would like to thank Family Services, especially Debbie Summers, for their loving care, and also special thanks to Don Gardner for taking Mary to church services at First United Methodist Church, Clarksburg, and the front porch companionship of Devin and Becky Hyde.
Friends may call at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Thursday, September 4, 2008, from 11 am – 1 pm, where services will be held at 1 pm with Reverend Elizabeth Baker presiding. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Masonic Cemetery.
