Millard W. "Mick" Cochran

Millard W. “Mick” Cochran, 73, of Meadland Community, Bridgeport, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2008, in the United Hospital Center.  He was born in Meadland Community on December 19, 1934, a son of the late Dennis and Edith Henderson Cochran. 

Mick is survived by his wife of 53 years, Wanda Jean Wilson Cochran, whom he married October 8, 1954.

Also surviving are two sons, Millard W. “Mick” Cochran, Jr. and his wife Tammy, Francis Mines; Timothy D. Cochran and his wife Angelia of Clarksburg; three grandsons, Corey M. Cochran and his wife Stephanie of Newport News, VA; Brandon M. Cochran, Clarksburg; and Jacob T. Cochran, Francis Mines; a great-granddaughter, Lucille Victoria Cochran, Newport News, VA; his sister, Beulah M. Sayers, Meadland Community, and two nephews, Mike and Rusty Sayers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Patrick W. Cochran, on February 21, 1995.

Mick was a graduate of Grafton High School, and retired in 1991 from Philips Lighting Company as a mill wright with over 37 years of service.  He was a member of Boothsville Baptist Church, Yates Lodge #163 AF & AM, Flemington, the Scottish Rite with membership in the Clarksburg and Wheeling bodies, Nemesis Shrine Temple, and Queen Ester Eastern Star, Clarksburg.

He loved his grandsons and great-granddaughter, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Friday from 2 – 8 pm, where services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, August 30, 2008, with Pastor Orville Wright presiding.  Interment will follow in Middleville Cemetery.
