Earl V. "Andy" Andrews
Earl V. “Andy” Andrews, 69, of Bridgeport, passed away Monday afternoon, July 28, 2008, in the United Hospital Center. He was born on April 25, 1939, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Chester and Macil Bennett Andrews.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lou B. Stallman Andrews, whom he married November 26, 1967.
Also surviving are 3 sons, David Andrews and his wife Missy; William Andrews and his wife Vickie; and Donald Andrews, all of Bridgeport; and 9 grandchildren, Zachary, Steven, Madison, Amber, Hope, Ryan, Skylar, Sierra, and Anthony; four brothers, Paul Andrews and his wife Lee of Garden Grove, California; Glen Andrews and hs wife Eloise of Charleston, SC; Charles Andrews of Marietta, OH; Larry Andrews and his wife Chris of Canton, OH; 5 sisters, Elizabeth Steed of Vienna; Carolyn Hayes, Nancy Cooper, Ellen Flanigan, and Kathy Shields, all of Parkersburg, and several nieces and nephews including three special nephews, Rodney Stallman, James Welsch and John Welsch complete the family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Andrews and a sister, Rosemary Price; a grandson, Ryan Andrews and a granddaughter, Rebecca Andrews.
Andy had worked at Rolland Glass as a glass cutter, and also at the Department of Highways as an equipment operator. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating, and was a John Wayne fan. He had attended Evangel Baptist Church, and his favorite passion was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to the Andrews family in care of Burnside Funeral Home.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, July 30, 2008. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Reverend Jeff Ramsey presiding. Interment will follow at Bridgeport Cemetery.
