Mildred R. Myers
Mildred R. Myers, 81, of Bridgeport, passed away Wednesday morning, May 14, 2008, in the United Hospital Center. She was born in Buckhannon on January 3, 1927, a daughter of the late Cecil and Edna Reger Bunner.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Guy Myers, on December 28, 2002.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Sue Myers, Bridgeport; her daughter-in-law, Jean Myers, Lansdale, PA; three grandsons, Philip Myers, CT; Bryan and Jeffrey Myers, both of Lansdale, PA; 2 sisters, Betty Curtis and her husband James, Bridgeport; Lola Wilcox and her husband Dale, West Milford; and a brother, Hobert Bunner and his wife Shirley, Bridgeport.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Barry Alan Myers; and two brothers, Raymond and Carroll Bunner.
Mildred was a very active member of Bridgeport United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Garden Club and Homemakers Club. She loved to play Bridge, and played with several different Bridge Clubs. She enjoyed her plants and her friends, as friendship was very important to her. She also loved her friends at Meadowview Manor, where she had been a resident for the past year, and considered them her second family.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, where services will be held on Saturday morning at 11 am with Reverend Steven E. Dorsey presiding. Interment will follow in Bridgeport Cemetery.
