Charles F. Robinson
Charles Francis “Duck” Robinson, 90, of Sycamore Road, Salem, died Sunday evening, May 11, 2008, in Davis Memorial Hospital. He was born in Reynoldsville on November 19, 1917, a son of the late Basil and Juanita McCartney Robinson.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice L. Hurst Robinson.
Also surviving are 2 sons, William F. Robinson and his wife Teresa, Salem; David M. Robinson and his wife Linda, West Milford; 3 daughters, Patricia Dowling and her husband Tony, Greenville, SC; Donna Moore and her husband Steve, Travelers Rest, SC; and Karen Trevino and her husband David, Atlanta, GA; 7 grandchildren, Amanda Robinson, Clarksburg; Erin Moore, Greenville, SC; Robbie Dowling, FL; Bryson Dowling, Greenville, SC; Jerry Breen, Dallas, TX; Bonnie Davis, NC; Debbie Dover, GA; and 6 great-grandchildren, Austin James Todd; Caroline Dover, Landon Dowling, Hilliary and Jordan Davis, and Harley Diamond. A brother, John Walter “Bill”Robinson and his wife Nina, Reynoldsville; and two sisters, Bernice Moots and her husband Francis, Reynoldsville; Maxine Garrett, Masontown, and several nieces and nephews complete his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Robinson, and two sisters, Shirley Lakey and Mary Farence.
“Duck” retired as a Master Sergeant from the US Army after 20 years of service, and was a member of the CCC. He had also worked for Logan Corp and Pinkerton, Inc. He was a member of Coplin United Methodist Church.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue, Bridgeport, on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, where services will be held at 1 pm Thursday with Reverend Carl Radcliff presiding. Interment will follow in WV National Cemetery, Pruntytown, where Military Funeral Honors will be accorded.
