David C. Wagner

David C. Wagner, 69, of Brushy Fork Road, Bridgeport, passed away Thursday evening, May 1, 2008, at his residence. He was born October 26, 1938, in Clarksburg, a son of the late Joseph P. and Georgina M. Ferguson Wagner.

David is survived by his wife Lenora J. Mino Wagner, whom he married May 31, 1958.

Also surviving are two sons, Kirby Wagner of Tuscan, AZ and Toby Wagner and his wife Su of Seymour, TN; five grandchildren, Amanda, Trish, Chloe, Aimee, and Ian; five great-grandchildren, Ariana, Jordan, Tyler, Lita and Sarah; one brother, Jim Wagner and his wife Catherine of Brushy Fork; and one sister, Mary Lantz and her husband Duane of Brushy Fork.

David graduated from Bridgeport High School, Class of 1956.  They moved to Nashville in 1964, where he started his career in automotive parts, including being a traveling salesman for Maremont Marketing and owning his own auto parts store. At age 45, he  became an over-the-road truck driver and logged a two million mile safe driving record with Old Dominion. He and Lenora retired from Tennessee and returned to West Virginia two years ago.

David enjoyed tinkering around the farm and making his lawn look beautiful.  He belonged to the Christian Assembly Church, was a proud member of the NRA and was an avid supporter of Feed The Children.

Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport from 4 to 6 pm on Sunday, May 4, 2008, where the funeral service will be held at 10 am Monday with Pastor Fred Aves presiding. Interment will follow in the Trinity Cemetery on Brushy Fork Road.
