Robert G. Steinhilber (Bob Hilber), 76, of Meadowcrest Lane, Bridgeport, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2008. He was born on July 7, 1931, in Royal Oak, MI, the only child of the late Cloyd Wilmont and Maida Lefroy Geddes Steinhilber.
He is survived by his wife, Sally L. Steinhilber; one daughter, Jessica Lynn Leech and her husband Garth of Bridgeport; four sons, Robert G. Steinhilber, Jr. and his wife Suzie of Alabama; William G. Steinhilber, John Leroy Steinhilber, and James Joseph Steinhilber, all of Kentucky; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two special nieces.
Bob was the owner/operator of WHAR and WVHF radio stations and solely owned WOBG radio station. He was an active member of the Kiwanis Club, the JayCees, Elks Club, and the American Legion. He was also an active member of Stage Crafters, and took charge of lining up the Clarksburg Christmas Parade for many years. Bob was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the US Army.
He was an avid golfer, and his hangout was the Bridgeport Country Club. He was a WVU and Miami Hurricanes fan, and enjoyed watching all types of sports. He was also a founding member of the Wednesday Night Garden Club.

In honor of Bob’s love for the WVU Mountaineers, the family encourages those attending the visitation and service to wear WVU blue and gold.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport, from 5 – 7 pm Monday, April 28, where a celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 pm with Reverend Ben Guido presiding.
