Jacqueline "Jackie" Lake
Jacqueline “Jackie” Lake, 73, of Jarvisville, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born November 8, 1934, in Washington, DC, a daughter of the late Mahlon G. and Lucille V. Price Fincham.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Willis B. Lake, on June 4, 2004.
Jackie is survived by three children, Larry Lake and his wife Betsy of Hagerstown, MD; Rev. Kenneth Lake and his wife Denisha of Rowlesburg; and Julie Clevenger and her husband Ronald of Salem; 10 grandchildren, Tonya Foltz, David & Andrew Lake; Kristopher, Matthew & Bryan Lake; Cassondra Chambers; and Michael, Daniel & Brandon Clevenger; 6 great-grandchildren and two nephews, Alan and Dan Van Wormer.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded by two sons, Michael and Stephen Lake, one grandson, Larry David Lake, and one sister, Shirley Van Wormer.
Jackie retired from the VA Medical Center Pharmacy as a secretary in 2000. She also had previously worked for the Census Bureau in Washington, DC, HREA and AT & T.
She was a former member of the Fellowship Baptist Church where she played the piano and was secretary. She enjoyed sewing and flower gardening.
Friends will be received at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport from 12:00 -3:00 and 5:00 – 8:00 PM Saturday, April 5, 2008. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 2:00 PM with Pastor George E. Murphy presiding. Interment will follow in the Jarvisville Cemetery.
